Genworth

  • 3 long-term care insurance announcements. In-Force Rate Action Announcement: Kentucky AARP: Privileged Choice® and Classic Select, In-Force Rate Action Announcement: Kentucky: Privileged Choice® and Classic Select, and In-Force Rate Action Announcement: Kentucky: Pre-PCS, PCS I, PCS II, Choice 1. Click the link above for details.
  • In-Force Rate Action Announcement: AARP: Privileged Choice and Classic Select. In September 2013, we announced our intention to seek premium increases on certain Privileged Choice® and Classic Select® policies sold between 2003 and 2012. At the time, larger increases were justified, based on projected experience, but rate stability requirements prevented us from requesting the fully justified amount. In 2016, we began requesting the full amount in states that previously allowed our 2013 ask. The states listed below have allowed the following premium increases on AARP Privileged Choice and Classic Select policies: Washington DC (10% increase), Delaware (15% increase), Iowa (15% increase), and South Carolina (15% increase). Servicing agents will receive a list of their impacted policyholders in this state one week prior to the start of policyholder notifications. Policyholder notifications will continue throughout the next year. Impacted policyholders will be notified at least 60 days in advance of their billing anniversary dates. Agency notifications begin January 10, 2017. Policyholder notifications begin January 17, 2017.
  • In-Force Rate Action Announcement: Idaho: Privileged Choice and Classic Select. In September 2013, we announced our intention to seek premium increases on certain Privileged Choice® and Classic Select® policies sold between 2003 and 2012. Subsequent to that announcement, we received approval for, and implemented, a 12.8% premium increase in Idaho. At the time, larger increases were justified, based on projected experience, but rate stability requirements prevented us from requesting the fully justified amount. In 2016, we began requesting the full amount in states that previously allowed our 2013 ask. Idaho has now allowed the below increase, and the details of the implementation of this premium change are available at the link above. Privileged Choice increase percentage: 15%; Classic Select increase percentage: 15%.
  • In-Force Rate Action Announcement: Tennessee: Privileged Choice and Classic Select. In September 2013, we announced our intention to seek premium increases on certain Privileged Choice® and Classic Select® policies sold between 2003 and 2012. Subsequent to that announcement, we received approval for, and implemented, a 12.8% premium increase in Tennessee. At the time, a larger increase was justified, based on projected experience, but rate stability requirements prevented us from requesting the fully justified amount. In 2016, we began requesting the full amount in states that previously allowed our 2013 ask. Tennessee has allowed the below increase. The details of the implementation of this premium change are available at the link above. Privileged Choice increase percentage: 41.6% (19% / 19% over 2 years); Classic Select increase percentage: 41.6% (19% / 19% over 2 years). This rate increase applies to non-AARP policies only.

  • Important Lincoln Life Product Updates. (1) Effective January 23, 2017, Lincoln is pleased to announce pricing improvements to Lincoln LifeElements® Level Term and Lincoln TermAccel® which will solidify our position as a top 3 carrier in each product’s target market with the lowest price in select scenarios. (2) Effective February 13, 2017, consistent with Lincoln’s strategy of prudently managing our product portfolio in light of interest rates, we are increasing pricing on new sales of the Lincoln LifeGuarantee® Survivorship UL (SUL) product. Mutual of Omaha

  • Rate Adjustments Effective April 1, 2017. Long-Term Care insurance (LTCi) is a core product for Mutual of Omaha and we intend to remain a key player in this market for years to come. In order to fulfill this commitment, we actively monitor emerging industry trends as well as our own experience so we can make the adjustments necessary that will allow us to keep our promises to policyholders and remain competitive in the marketplace. For this reason, we will be implementing the following rate adjustments effective April 1, 2017: Block of Business LTC04G - Impacted States: Alabama, Nebraska,  Wyoming.  Policyholders will receive a letter notifying them at least 60 days prior to the premium rate increase. The effective date of the premium rate increase will be listed in this notification. Notification to all affected policyholders will be mailed by February 1, 2017, to ensure policyholders in the approved states receive notification of their April 1, 2017, premium rate increase. Along with the premium rate increase notification letters, most policyholders will receive an adjustment offer if there are options available. The offer will provide the policyholder a benefit reduction alternative to help reduce the impact of the premium increase.
