- Updates to Life Insurance Underwriting Guidelines. Allianz has made the following updates to its financial and affordability underwriting guidelines:
- Simplified affordability guidelines, allowing clients to leverage liquid assets in addition to earned income
- Updating death benefit guidelines, including: *Increased earning factor for death benefit justification for younger ages *Modified guidelines to allow for estate preservation design for estates valued under $5 million and the ability to grow estates out longer in some instances
- Revising pro-athlete guidelines with an emphasis on personal needs

There were no changes made to the nationally sold version of Lincoln MoneyGuard Market Advantage® (2022). Lincoln MoneyGuard Market Advantage® is a variable universal life insurance policy with a long-term care rider. Lincoln MoneyGuard Market Advantage® - 02/13/23* is a new product offering in California for the MoneyGuard portfolio and will not replace Lincoln MoneyGuard® II. Lincoln MoneyGuard Market Advantage® first launched in 2021 as an innovative product design, providing growth potential for both long-term care and death benefits through investment option performance, and offers downside protection with annual lock-ins and a guaranteed minimum level of long-term care benefits. Lincoln VULONE (2021) – 02/13/23 will replace Lincoln VULONE (2021) – 06/13/22 in all states that are approved at rollout.

In states that have adopted Best Interest changes, producers are required to use the new NAIC Best Interest Annuity Suitability Policies and Procedures Producers’ Guide, all other states will continue using the prior version of the guide. - Additional state approvals for GI Term II. The new Principal® Guaranteed Issue Term II (GI Term II) was introduced Jan. 16, 2023. We want to let you know about three new state approvals – South Carolina, effective Feb. 1, and Florida and North Dakota, effective Feb. 15.
- Non-English Speaking Statement. If a customer’s primary language isn’t English, the Statement of English Understanding (DD992) is required. The version used should be that of the customer’s primary language (rather than the English version). The translated Statement of English Understanding is currently available in the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Rusian, Farsi, Chinese, Tagalog, Korean, Hmong, Thai.
