  • NEW: Estate Maximizer Next Generation product revision. Due to the prolonged low-interest-rate environment Liberty Life is revising its single payment whole life product, effective December 1, 2014. Death benefit is now decreased by 5% per premium dollar. Commission rates or other product features are not affected.

Protective

  • NEW: Medical exam policy change. Effective December 5, 2014, medical exams are no longer routinely required to be performed by a physician. All affected age and face amounts (all ages for cases above $5,000,000) will now require a paramedical exam.
  • NEW: Conversion options for MONY/MLOA acquisition. On October 1, 2013, Protective Life Insurance Company ("Protective Life") acquired MONY Life Insurance Company ("MONY") from the AXA Financial Group ("AXA"). As part of this acquisition, Protective Life also became the reinsurer of an in-force book of life insurance policies issued by MONY Life Insurance Company of America ("MLOA") primarily prior to 2004. Protective Life has collaborated with AXA to create a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help eligible term policy owners and their advisors understand the options for conversion.

  • NEW: 2015 Policyholder Dividend Scales. The Prudential Insurance Company's Board of Directors has approved payment of approximately $1.98 billion in dividends in 2015 for participating individual life insurance policies and annuity contracts in Prudential's Closed Block. The 2015 payment represents an increase of approximately $53 million in the 2014 dividend scales for 2015.
  • Product improvements coming January 5. On January 5, 2015, Prudential will launch an improved PruLife® Founders Plus UL & PruLife® Index Advantage UL.
