Informal Review questionnaire

Occasionally, you come across a large case that has potentially large premiums and a client with a significant health history that may make underwriting difficult. On cases like these, it's important to get the best possible offer to have the greatest opportunity for success.

Fortunately, Pinney Insurance has relationships with the most competitive players in the large case arena and the specific tools that can help you get the best results.

The primary carriers that we have available that participate in the Informal Review process:

  • American General
  • Genworth
  • John Hancock
  • Lincoln Financial
  • Mutual of Omaha
  • Principal
  • Aviva
  • ING
  • Lincoln Benefit
  • MetLife
  • Protective
  • Prudential
  • Transamerica

On cases like these, we recommend an “informal review” of your client’s health history, including APS’s, cardiac testing results, prior lab values, mental health notes and any other pertinent health records to provide a health assessment and tentative offer.

This will give you the best possible outcome and a more likely final approval. It will also save the hassle and embarrassment of having to resell a case when a carrier “changes” a rating based on a “QuickQuote” or health summary requiring further review of full Dr’s notes.

To initiate the Informal Review process, you will need to complete (including signatures) the Pinney Informal Application.

The informal review process can seem time consuming and does have rules (see the Informal Review Guidelines), but it saves time and allows for the best offers in the long run. If you have questions or cases that may need an informal review, contact us today for assistance.
